Our Team
Carrie M. McKerley, Attorney
Carrie M. McKerley graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2010, and was licensed to practice law in Texas in 2011. Additionally, Carrie has an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Paralegal Studies (1996), as well as a Bachelor of Science in Government from Texas Women’s University (1998).
Carrie is a member of the State Bar Association of Texas and has served as the Secretary of the Waller County Bar Association since 2015.
Carrie’s practice areas include all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody, child support and enforcement. Carrie proudly serves as a child advocate in private custody matters and CPS cases.
Carrie and her family have lived in the Waller/Magnolia area since 2003. Carrie has three children, including a son currently serving in the U.S. Army, and a daughter, who recently graduated from Texas State University.

Teresa A. Smith, Paralegal
Teresa joined McKerley Law Firm in 2018 and provides detailed support to Ms. McKerley and her clients, providing regular contact and updates, managing discovery and case calendar deadlines, and drafting and filing pleadings.
Teresa uses her considerable ability to multi-task by helping clients in family transitions, from complex, or “high-conflict” cases to simple, uncontested matters.
Graduating from Lone Star College in 2014 with an AAS degree in Paralegal Studies. Teresa has over four years’ experience exclusively in family law.
As a true Texan, born and raised, Teresa enjoys the country life, road trips, traveling, community events, and of course, country music.
